RAPIDLY growing Melbourne company Aussie Farmers Direct has leased a major warehouse in Tottenham in Melbourne’s west to accommodate for their expanding business.
Jones Lang LaSalle negotiated a five year lease for 4,744 sqm of warehouse space at 33-65 Paramount Road, Tottenham.
Aussie Farmers Direct started out with only 30 customers and in just four years, it now delivers their 100% Australian owned produce to over 70,000 customers nationwide.
The Melbourne-based company has a current growth of around 3,500 customers per month and experienced growth in average revenue of 205% to $64.9 million in 2008-09.
Aussie Farmers Direct CEO Braeden Lord said one of the biggest challenges faced by the company’s rapid growth over the last 12 months has been to acquire the space to accommodate for the increase in staff and product demand, including the need for new warehouses with specific requirements in different states.
“As with the warehouses, the head office of Aussie Farmers Direct has had to relocate similarly three times over the last 12 months to house the growing staff numbers,” Lord said.
The agreement was negotiated by JLL’s Ashley Buller and Robert Mirabello.
