The mixed use $1 billion project was developed on a 104 hectare site once owned by RMIT in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Bundoora. University Hill site is now more than two-thirds completed after just seven years of development.
MAB Corporation University Hill project director Jason Wood said to date, more than 200 apartments and 300 homes have been built making up around half of the planned 1,000 homes.
He added that the business park continues to stamp its name as the preeminent employment location for Melbourne’s North with MAB releasing its third office building to the market offering further opportunities for business to join the likes of Continental, Doncaster BMW, Northway Honda and regional offices for VicRoads, Department of Industry, Innovation and Regional Development (DIIRD), Australian Electoral Commission and CRS.
Meanwhile the $110 million Edgecliff On The Beach has won the 2010 Victoria UDIA Award for Excellence in Medium Density developments.
The luxury waterfront apartment and townhouse development occupies an 11,248 sqm site along the prestigious Beach Rd on Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay.
Development and marketing manager Di Kellett said just four apartments, two townhouses and a handful of penthouses remain with prices from $1.65 million to $2.9 million.
Designed by well-known Melbourne bayside architectural firm, JDA Architects and built by Wentworth Constructions, the apartments vary from two to four bedroom dwellings and facilities include underground parking, extensive storage (including in-roof sections for the penthouses) and a community swimming pool, spa and gym. Landscaping is by eminent Australian landscape designer, Rick Eckersley.
Kellett said the $53 million build had accrued so far more than $120 million in sales.
