THE Bureau of Meteorology has extended its lease at 700 Collins St in the Melbourne CBD for a further 10 years.
The Bureau of Meteorology occupies approximately 15,500 sqm across levels five to 11. This is the second major lease renewal within 700 Collins St after train operator Metro increased its footprint to 10,000 sqm earlier this year.
“The renewed commitment of the Bureau of Meteorology, who has been a tenant with us since the building first opened in 2004, showcases the way Cromwell actively manages our property portfolio,” Cromwell’s head of property Damian Horton said.
700 Collins St is an A-grade 17-level office tower and comprises 33,848 sqm of space. The building was repositioned last year with a complete refurbishment of the common areas, with an upgrade and expansion of the end of trip facilities as well as a modernised entry foyer which included an upgrade of the retail/coffee amenities and the introduction of a communal meeting area.
“The building combines the advantages of high quality features and being in the new end of the CBD.
“The western end of Collins St has changed significantly over the past 10 years and is now very much seen to be at the centre of the action. The Bureau of Meteorology saw this potential before many others and is now reaping the benefits with a high quality, refurbished office building in the new heart of the Melbourne CBD,” Horton said.
