SEXPO founder David Ross has sold his Bourke Street penthouse office atop the former Hoyts cinema complex to an owner occupier in one of the biggest Melbourne CBD strata deals.
Knight Frank’s Andrew Hansen, Jack De Lutis and Gellie Mendes brokered the $6.975 million plus GST sale.
More than 130 enquiries were received throughout the campaign.
The 620 sqm top floor office in Melbourne’s popular east end was also marketed with the building’s 430 sqm rooftop and air rights, as well as six basement parking spaces.
“The sale demonstrates the continued strength of Melbourne’s commercial property market and the profound interest key assets like this continue to derive,” the agents said.
Constructed from 1966 to 1969, the 14-storey building was home to Australia’s first multi-screen cinema and was converted into strata offices and sold down by Michael Drapac for $55 million.
Sentinel Property Group sold the Virgin Active gym on the building’s bottom three levels for $34 million two years ago, having paid $20 million for the asset in 2013.
