EIGHT hectares of land formerly home to the Warburton Health Care Centre and Hospital in the Yarra Valley has been put up for sale with vacant possession.
The property has six large, interconnected buildings, developed over various years, with the prominent multi-storey hospital building constructed in 1994. Yarra Valley Council recently supported a proposed medical, aged care and accommodation redevelopment plan, comprised mostly of the existing facility’s envelope.
Originally established as the Warburton Sanitarium in 1912, the property has a hospital and health resort within landscaped gardens, which include Californian Redwoods dating back to the early 1900s.
Bids from an array of hospital, age care and hospitality purchasers.
CBRE’s Sandro Peluso, Marcello Caspani-Muto, Josh Twelftree, Jimmy Tat and Scott Callow are handling the expressions of interest campaign for 25 Donna Buang Rd.
“The opportunity to acquire a well-known health facility in the Warburton Valley will interest prospective purchasers from a range of sectors – including aged care, retirement living, health and wellness, hospitality and education, as well as investors/developers looking to re-open the venue as a hospital,” Peluso said.
The property is a short walk from the Yarra River and is 77km east of the Melbourne CBD, about 25km from Healesville Sanctuary and close to Yarra Valley wineries.
Expressions of interest close 11th March.
