ASX-listed Cedar Woods has recorded over $22.5 million in sales of home sites at its Ellendale master planned community in Brisbane north western suburb Upper Kedron, with $15 million snapped up since March despite the coronavirus crisis.
Situated alongside the picturesque South D’Aguilar National Park, homesites at Ellendale range from 320sqm to 922sqm start from $345,000.
Cedar Woods senior development manager, Peter Starr, said buyers were focused on the opportunities in the current market, including securing a new lifestyle for their family and taking advantage of historic low interest rates.
“We found enquiries lifted in recent months as people re-assessed their living situation and decided they didn’t want to wait to make a lifestyle change,” he said.
“The spotlight is shifting to leafy suburban areas close to the city, like Upper Kedron, as more people recognise the value of immediate access to green open space after spending more time indoors.
Ellendale is the closest masterplanned house and land community to the Brisbane CBD, and is surrounded by 91 hectares of bushland and offers a number of elevated split and sloping lots that capture views and breezes across the treetops.
Strong interest has been received since the federal government’s announcement of the HomeBuilder initiative in early June.
“We have house and land packages that qualify for HomeBuilder, with the grant available to upgraders and downsizers, along with first home buyers, looking to invest in their dream ‘forever home’,” Starr said.
