MARIO Biasin, Founder and CEO of Metricon Homes, has passed away at 71.
Biasin founded Metricon Homes in 1976 with George Kline who passed away in 2018.
Following this news, Ross Palazzesi, director and major shareholder will serve as acting executive chair at the group.
While Peter Langfelder, director and general manager of Victoria, has been appointed as acting CEO.
“As friends and colleagues of Mario, we are shocked and so saddened by the news. Our hearts and thoughts are with the Biasin family,” said Palazzesi, who joined Metricon in 1998.
Metricon employs around 2,500 staff across Australia’s eastern seaboard, with circa 4,000 houses currently under construction and was last year named Australia’s top builder for the sixth year in a row by HIA-Colorbond Steel’s Housing 100 report.
“We will ensure Metricon Homes continues all operations and on-site construction as usual during a very emotional time.”
Biasin is survived by his wife Glenda and 4 adult children Jason, Michelle Cresfield, Bradley and Brent as well as their spouses and children.
