SEKISUI House’s premium home building brand SHAWOOD is expanding into north-west Sydney, having acquired a prime 1.2-hectare site in Castle Hill for a new community.
Located at one of the last in-fill sites in the area, 2 McIntyre Place in Castle Hill sits around 9.5km north of Parramatta, with the new development to comprise 16 detached homes, each focusing on luxury, sustainability and design.
“Our expansion into Castle Hill represents a key milestone in our growth journey across New South Wales,” said Sean Osawa, CEO of residential communities & home building at Sekisui House Australia.
“This project, like our other communities, is set to meet our high standards of innovation, design and sustainability but also resonate deeply with the local community.”
Sekisui House expects to see significant interest in the project thanks to its proximity to key infrastructure in The Hills Shire, including North Connex, the Metro North-West, arterial freeways to Sydney’s CBD, Castle Hill Towers shopping precinct and educational facilities.
The development is also strategically located with easy access to the city via the Castle Hill Metro Station and major roads.

The acquisition follows the ongoing growth of Sekisui House Australia, with the business recently acquiring 10 parcels of land across Sydney, NSW.
Last month, buyers flocked to Sekisui House’s new estate being developed in collaboration with Greg Norman, with $144 million in property sales on from nearly half the homes on offer.
While in September, the developer secured development approval for the fourth stage of The Orchards, the group’s $1 billion masterplanned community in Sydney’s Norwest.
