The German community’s inner south Melbourne club site has been put up for sale with approval for a six-storey apartment project, and with expectations of more than $18 million.
Club Tivoli-Deutscher Verein Melbourne HQ is located on the corner of Chomley Street and Dandenong Road in Prahran.
Formed 165 years old, the German Club is one of Melbourne’s oldest clubs, and has been in Prahran since 1989.
Its 3,085 sqm site has a permit for 56 apartments across six levels plus basement car parking and with ground level retail.
Knight Frank’s Stephen Kelly, Tom Ryan and Nick Bisset along with Colliers’ Jozef Dickinson, Alex Browne and Philip Heberling have the listing. Expressions of interest close Friday 14th March.
“It’s the perfect development size for Melbourne’s most active developers,” Dickinson said.
Kelly the location is “incredibly well serviced with a tram stop directly out the front, and only minutes’ walk to Chapel Street”.
Prahran’s lifestyle attributes make it popular with renters and home owners alike. Its median house price for Prahran stands at $1.845 million.
