A PRIME railway development site at Milton in Brisbane’s inner-city fringe has sold for $1.67 million.
The 746 sqm site at 9 Railway Terrace occupies a prominent position next to the Milton railway station and directly opposite the XXXX Brewery. The site is also within close proximity to Suncorp Stadium and the Brisbane River.
The property was sold by Savills Pete Costello and Robert Dunne. The property was purchased by local business Toowong Milton Body Repairs, which intend to use the site as a storage yard in the short term.
Costello said the area is rapidly emerging as one of the most sought-after urban renewal precincts in Brisbane’s inner city fringe.
“Milton railway station is one of the key precincts earmarked in the state government’s Transit Orientated Development planning scheme for future development to maximise its established rail and road transport links.
“The area immediately surrounding the station will only grow as a hub for new mixed-use development and this is one of the prime sites with direct frontage to the railway line that will undoubtedly play a vital role in future amalgamations for a larger site,” he added.
