SEVEN hectares earmarked for a private hospital or integrated health development in the City of Logan has been listed for sale.
The greenfield site in Meadowbrook, on Ellerslie and Loganlea Roads, forms part of the Meadowbrook Master Plan in Logan’s health and wellbeing precinct.
Knight Frank’s Russell Allison and Jason McKinnon are marketing the site.
Despite more than 36% of residents holding private healthcare and nearly 41% holding general healthcare, the City of Logan is still awaiting its first private hospital, with the nearest private facilities located in Brisbane.
Logan’s aging population is also tipped to grow faster than other areas in south east Queensland.
“Overall, there is a significant existing and increasing shortages of acute hospital care and specialist outpatient care, despite the planned expansion of the Logan Public Hospital,” Allison said. “The opportunity provided here to developers is rare, and as such we anticipate significant buyer interest when the marketing campaign kicks off.”
The Meadowbrook site offers easy access to the Logan Motorway, Logan Hospital and Griffith University Logan Campus, while the City of Logan’s population is expected to grow more than 320,000 people to 500,000 in less than 20 years.
The site is identified within a Regional Economic Cluster (Knowledge and Technology Precinct) in the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017. The state government has committed to the $281 million upgrade of the Logan Hospital.
