WALKER Corporation has teamed up with Development Victoria to create a space at its newly completed, fully leased Collins Square project in Docklands for a blooming social enterprise.
Two specially-designed retail pods of a combined 110 sqm at 43-44 Village Street, adjacent to its 1860 restored Goods Shed South, will be occupied by Miei Fiori – Italian for “My Flowers” Street.
Miei Fiori is owned by a husband and wife Lyly and Rob Greca, and aims to close the poverty gap through innovative business solutions that support communities and protect the planet, with 100% of its net profits going to local charities.
The space will be occupied under a lease agreement at nil rent, and Miei Fiori will display products of Australian entrepreneurs and not-for-profit groups, including flowers and plants, designer furniture and home products, quality gifts for men and women, educational toys and personalised items for children, as well as holding free workshops to re-skill people.
The space also doubles as the team’s production space, and the public can pop into the “pods” and see the team at work creating floral arrangements and installations for Miei Fiori’s clients.
