AMP Capital Investors and Brookfield have completed a $40 million sustainable refurbishment at NAB House, which coincides with World Green Building Week.
The property, located at 255 George Street Sydney, was designed to achieve a 5-star Greenstar – Office v2 rating as part of the refurbishment and has already achieved a 4.5-star NABERS Energy rating, unassisted by greenpower. The public foyer on the ground floor includes a unique vertical garden extending six metres high.
AMP Capital Wholesale Office fund manager Henry Elliott said AMP Capital is committed to evolving properties for a greener more sustainable future.
“NAB House represents a new standard of sustainability for existing buildings in the Sydney CBD. The greener, sharper, smarter NAB House is a fully occupied and environmentally efficient A-Grade office tower that will remain relevant for our investors and our tenants for a generation,” he added.
AMP Capital owns 75% of NAB House through its AMP Wholesale Capital Office Fund, an open ended unlisted trust with an exposure to $2.4 billion in high quality commercial assets.
The remaining 25% of NAB House is owned by Brookfield Office Properties. The company’s common shares trade on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges under the symbol BPO.
During World Green Building Week is an initiative of the World Green Building Council to celebrate initiatives that improve the sustainability of the built environment.
