THE Northern Territory government has announced local company Paspaley Pearls Properties will develop a new $84 million office tower in the Darwin CBD.
Chief minister Paul Henderson said Darwin’s CBD is set for rejuvenation with the 9,000 sqm of green office space.
“Their 20 storey development will be an exciting enhancement to the Darwin CBD, with office, commercial, retail and recreational space on the existing Paspaley site on Smith St Mall.
“The historic facade of the site will be maintained, keeping an important part of Darwin’s history alive while looking into the future with a state of the art green building,” he added.
“The Territory Government is committed to sustainable development, and this landmark project will provide clean, green commercial infrastructure while creating jobs and driving economic development in Darwin’s heart,” he continued.
The 5 Star NABERS rated building will house a mixture of Government and commercial tenants.
It is anticipated that the Territory Government will take occupancy of the new facility in 2015.
