CENTENNIAL Park’s historic Braelin residence is back on the market, listed for $25 million-plus after last selling for $16.5 million in 2018.
Philanthropist and gallerist Dr Gene Sherman is selling the expansive Federation home at 44-46 Lang Road, having moved back to Woollahra after years in Centennial Park.
The house was in 1918 for built Lord Mayor Sir Allen Taylor by architect Donald Esplin, spans 2,200sqm across a single level configuration with six bedrooms. Though Sherman worked with interior design Don Cameron to transform the space into a two-bedroom and multiple sitting room layout to adequately display her extensive art collection.
The property also includes second dwelling and a self-contained apartment above a gym.
Sherman purchased the home from Atlassian CEO Mike Cannon-Brooke in 2018 for a then record for the suburb.
Likewise, prestige car dealer Ian Pagent and his wife Maryanne set a record when selling the home for $12 million in 2015, after buying million from recruitment consultant Brian Russell in 2009 for $8.2 million.
Ben Collier from The Agency has been appointed to sell the property.
Sherman recently returned to Woollahra, purchasing a 1976-built terrace on a 330sqm site for $13 million before it hit the market. With Collier also managing this transaction.
