BRISBANE's 53-level Riparian Plaza has been awarded the Overall Winner of the 2008 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards.
Riparian Plaza also won the National Award for Innovation and Excellence in Mixed Use Development. This award was open to inspiring developments that exhibited innovation and excellence in design and development of a building of at least three substantive uses.
Riparian Plaza went on to surpass a distinguished field of 12 category award winners to take out the top honours of the evening. Previous winners include the Renzo Piano designed Aurora Place and last year’s winner, the Norman Foster designed Deuschte Bank Place.
Riparian’s owner and developer, Bloomberg Incorporation Limited’s director Scott Collins said the building has created a new genre of building which challenged the city of Brisbane to embrace a progressive new concept of development.
“In this regard it is very satisfying to witness not only the commercial success of the building but also to receive the recognition of our industry,” he concluded.
