RUSSIAN immigrant and one time pizza delivery boy Leon Kamenev has emerged as the Sydney businessman who paid more than $70 million for four Vaucluse homes.
The combined land involved in the deal is 4,270 sqm and comprises 13, 13a, 15 and 15a Coolong Rd.
Two of the properties sit on the waterfront, with the other two street-fronted. The waterfront homes were owned by Colleen Shein, wife of technology entrepreneur and former Fairfax board member David Shein.
The street-fronted homes were owned by Julia Singer, wife of lawyer, Simon Sinder, purchased for $5.51 million in 2013, and by businessman Avron Cohen and his wife Jean, purchased for $1.3 million in 1995.
The 58-year old Kamenev migrated to Australia in 1990 and started delivering pizza. He later started up online takeaway delivery website Menulog, which he sold to Just Eat for $470 million.
