THE iconic Atwell Arcade in Fremantle CBD is being offered for sale for the first time in almost 100 years.
Fronting High St Mall, Adelaide St and running through to Cantonment St, the extended Atwell family has had an interest in the properties dating back to the late 1890s.
The original High St buildings were constructed between 1895 and 1929, with the Cantonment St buildings constructed post 1950.
Savills Miles Rowe and Chas Moore have been appointed to sell the property and said the main buildings provided a very wide 44 metre frontage to the northern side of the High St Mall.
The property is home to the Culleys Bakery and Tea Rooms as well as City Beach. A number of established local tenants populate the retail mall linking through to Cantonment St.
On the first floor level, there are offices and professional suites. Total building area is approximately 2,678 sqm. The property is on three separate titles, with a combined site area of 2,403 sqm.
The agents said the property provides a secure income stream to an investor, with opportunities to remix the tenancy profile.
“It was very rare for a landholding of this size in central Fremantle to become available. The property is diagonally opposite the landmark Kings Square redevelopment, surrounding the Fremantle Civic Centre and walking distance to Cappuccino Strip and Fremantle Railway Station,” they said.
Savills is running an expression of interest campaign, closing 3 October.
