KingSett Capital has made two key hires to support the expansion of its origination capacity in the debt and equity spaces, Green Street News can reveal.
David MacFayden was appointed director of investments for KingSett, effective Aug. 26. He reports to Mark Meredith, executive director of investments.
MacFayden, based in the KingSett’s Toronto office, hails from Slate Asset Management, where he worked for nearly five years. He departed Slate as a vice president of investments. Prior to that, MacFayden worked at Avison Young as a senior associate for just over five years.
In the new role, MacFayden will be primarily responsible for identifying and structuring investments throughout the capital stack and fostering relationships with current and potential joint venture partners to create investment opportunities.
KingSett also has a new director of mortgage investments. Bryce Lee took up his position on July 22.
Lee joined KingSett from MarshallZehr, where he departed as a vice president of business development. He had worked at that firm for approximately five years.
BCGi Real Estate Executive Search was engaged by Kingsett for both roles.
KingSett manages $18bn of assets across its equity and credit funds.
