DEVELOPER Beulah’s Paragon will feature Australia’s largest and most efficient vertical solar panel system.
According to Beulah, their new Melbourne CBD tower, Paragon, will outperform buildings with similar systems of vertical solar panels installed. With 128 solar panels, across 158m2, the 42kW system will have superior emission reduction, cost reduction and green energy sustainability.
“We are so proud to offer Melburnians a remarkable new tower with a landscape of social spaces that introduce sophisticated design to Melbourne living and entertainment,” said Adelene Teh, executive director at Beulah.
The $200 million Fender Katsalidis designed tower, at 318 Queen Street, is comprised of 227 residences over 48-storeys.
“Paragon offers sophisticated living that residents can feel good about, with the implementation of a stellar solar system that means their lifestyle will have a low impact on the environment,” added Teh.
B.energy is heading up the design construction, operations and maintenance of the development, integrating renewables into the design of the building, while creating systems to maximise energy production, and limit costs, without the environmental impact.
The Solar panels will be installed on the core walls of the tower, as part of b.energy’s “verticality renewables strategy”, involving vertical installation and operation of the system, with the implementation at Paragon to be the largest of its kind in Melbourne.
The technical process utilises 128 Trina Solar HoneyBlack 325W monocrystalline modules to generate c30MWh and use the latent building lift core and fluid dampening tanks options within limited rooftop building services space.
“The combination of a painted lift core and stylish HoneyBlack modules have not only markedly complemented the building design aesthetics, but will assist in reducing common property electricity costs,” said James Dunstan, chairman of b.energy.
Beulah recently commenced construction on its $30 million Provenance Camberwell project, after appointing Lurada Property Group to deliver the development.
Paragon topped out in August of last year, amidst Melbourne’s stage four COVID-19 restrictions and is scheduled for completion within the next month.
