THE Australian Public Trustees is undertaking a $60 million refurbishment of four properties, including the Australian Taxation Office building in Geelong.
APT awarded Stanfield the contract for project management of four government tenancies. Stanfield was recently appointed APT’s funds manager and is proposing to the publicly float the Government Property Trust.
Stanfield will undertake to refurbish four properties, expected to cost around $60 million, in the Australian Public Trustees’ fund.
The properties include:
· The Department of Health & Ageing at 2 – 6 Bowes St Woden in Canberra for 12,000 sqm.
· The Australian Taxation Office and Centrelink building at 100 Brougham St and the City of Greater Geelong at 101 – 107 Corio St Geelong, Victoria totaling 5,700 sqm
· The Centrelink building at 30 Gawler St Salisbury, SA for 2,000 sqm
· And the Hunter New England Area Health Services at 10 Dangar St Newcastle, NSW.
When completed, the properties are expected to target 4.5 Star NABERS rating.
The refurbishment of the ATO office is part of APT’s strategy to retain the ATO as tenant.
The ATO recently revealed to Australian Property Journal that it was reviewing its tenancies across Australia and was looking for energy efficient buildings.
