CONSTRUCTION company Valemus yesterday announced that Rick Turchini has decided to retire from his role as managing director of Baulderstone.
After more than 40 years in the construction industry including five years as managing director of Baulderstone, Turchini has decided to retire at the end of 2010.
“The difference Rick has made at Baulderstone in the past five years is amazing. The changes with regard to discipline, strategic direction and the performance on the projects has been first class. The whole Baulderstone team under Rick’s leadership has confirmed the company’s place among the top tier of building and construction companies in Australia”, Valemus CEO Peter Brecht said.
Meanwhile the company announced that Ian Luck will succeed Turchini.
Luck joined Baulderstone in 2005 and is currently the general manager – southern region. Luck established a very strong engineering business with successful high profile projects such as the Calder-Tullamarine Interchange, the M1 Upgrade Project and several alliances with Melbourne Water and has also overseen Baulderstone’s re-establishment of a permanent presence in Western Australia.
Prior to joining Baulderstone, he had worked for Leighton Contractors.
“We are confident that Ian Luck and the senior Baulderstone management Team will continue to grow and develop the Baulderstone business,” Brecht said.
