CoStar has closed a Toronto-based research team as part of the consolidation of its North American operations, Green Street News can reveal.
The company confirmed the layoffs in a statement to Green Street News on Wednesday but did not say how many people were affected or what specific research team was impacted.
CoStar’s statement said the “realignment” will see Canadian research conducted out of Richmond, Virginia. It said the decision was not financial or related to employee performance, adding that it is committed to the Canadian market.
“We do not take decisions that affect the daily lives of our employees lightly,” CoStar said, noting that those laid off can apply for other positions in the company.
