A DEVELOPMENT opportunity at Montario Quarter in Shenton Park has entered the market, through DevelopmentWA.
The 5,263sqm site, Lot 36, is zoned R160 for multi-unit development and sits within the inner city 15.8-hectare Montario Quarter, just five kilometres from the Perth CBD on the former Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site.
“Montario Quarter is an outstanding example of state government transforming underutilised land in established areas into thriving, vibrant residential communities,” said Tony Buti, lands minister.
Montario Quarter will eventually offer over 1,100 residences and with four development sites in the quarter already sold, in addition to 30 residential lots, residents began moving into the area in late 2020.
“Good quality housing close to quality public transport links and key activity centres is a sustainable way for our city to grow,” added Buti.
Lot 36 looks out onto landscaped parkland and sits opposite the Shenton Quarter development, which will be home to a Coles, specialist food and beverage offerings and retail outlets.
“This urban village sits within minutes of quality schools, key public transport routes and medical services, and offers excellent proximity to both the CBD and the beach,” said Buti.
Construction on Shenton Quarter is currently underway, along with Lot 38 which will consist of three residential buildings and the restored heritage-listed Victoria House.
Additionally, construction is also underway on Lot 12, which will comprise 12 sold out terrace houses, fronting Selby Street.
“Montario Quarter will be a sustainable, attractive and vibrant new residential community, with more than 25 per cent of the estate devoted to public open space and parklands,” said Buti.
Montario Quarter has been recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia as leading sustainable development and has already received accreditation as a 6-Star Green Star Community.
“Work has already started on rehabilitation of the bushland along Montario Quarter and when complete, more than 1,100 new trees will be planted across the estate,” said Katrina Stratton, Nedlands MLA.
“Shenton Park has always been one of Perth’s most desirable, inner-city locations and developments like this will give more people the opportunity to live in and thrive in our community,” concluded Stratton.
