EMBATTLED ASX- and New Zealand-listed construction products manufacturer and builder Fletcher Building has appointed Capral boss Tony Dragicevich to its board as an independent non-executive director, continuing its phase of board renewal.
Dragicevich will take up the role from the beginning of August.
“Tony is a highly accomplished CEO and director who brings significant experience in leading distribution and manufacturing businesses across Australia and New Zealand. His successful career in the building products sector, combined with his strong track record of delivering value for shareholders, make him an excellent addition to Fletcher Building’s Board,” said Fletcher Building acting chair Barbara Chapman said.
Dragicevich has held the role of managing director and CEO of Capral, Australia’s largest aluminium extrusion manufacturing and distribution business, since 2013.
Prior to this, he was managing Director and CEO of major paint manufacturer Wattyl Group.
Other previous roles have included chief executive of GWA Bathrooms and Kitchens (Caroma), managing director of Red Paper Group, and general manager of Carter Holt Harvey Insulation.
His appointment follows directors Rob McDonald and Martin Brydon both bringing forward their exits from the board.
Fletcher is expecting lower earnings for FY24, with market conditions remaining weak across the company’s materials and distribution divisions, which prompted credit ratings agency Moody’s to downgrade the company’s rating.
