LENDLEASE has secured global insurer QBE to join anchor tenant ANZ within its $430 million 839 Collins Street office building in Melbourne’s Docklands.
QBE will take up around 6,000 sqm over three floors and move around 400 employees from 628 Bourke Street by the middle of this year.
ANZ will be taking up 26,500 sqm of the 39,000 sqm, 20-storey building, located in the Victoria Harbour precinct and next to its 85,000 sqm global headquarters that Lendlease delivered last decade.
The 839 Collins Street building is now nearly fully leased and will reach practical completion in March. It is expected to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. The Victoria Harbour precinct has already achieved a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating.
The 39,000sqm building is now close to being fully leased and will reach practical completion in March this year.
QBE’s signature follows International Workplace Group’s (IWG) co-working brand, Spaces, agreeing to lease 7,000 sqm across two buildings within Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter precinct nearby.
Spaces will occupy one floor at One Melbourne Quarter and more than 4,000 sqm over two floors at Two Melbourne Quarter. There will be over 700 flexible workstations available when Spaces moves into One Melbourne Quarter in May this year and Two Melbourne Quarter on completion in mid-2020.
The Lendlease-managed Australian Prime Property Fund Commercial owns One Melbourne Quarter and has a 50% interest in Two Melbourne Quarter with First State Super.
