QUEENSLAND property developer MAYD Group has lodged a development application with the Gold Coast City Council for a $350 million luxury hotel and residential masterplan project on its North Kirra Property.
Overlooking North Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast, the 4,742sqm amalgamation of eight prime sites, fronting Pacific Parade, Golden Four Drive and Musgrave Street, will be transformed into a five-star hotel and residential masterplan if approved.
The 160-key five-star hotel building and separate 10-level apartment building with 60 private residences including two penthouses and five double storey beach houses, will be designed by multidisciplinary architecture design firm MAS Studio with interiors by Mim Design.
“We were fortunate to have been able to acquire eight adjoining sites to create one large beachfront site for our signature masterplan at North Kirra,” said Todd Mould, founder and director at MAYD Group.
“The opportunity to develop such a large beachfront site in North Kirra is a rare one that required a development design of architectural excellence and we are very pleased with the plans that we have created in collaboration with award-winning MAS Studio.”
“We have been working with Gold Coast City Council on lodging the development application to deliver a landmark building of high distinction for such a prominent site, keeping the local environment and community front of mind.
The apartments at 2-6 Pacific Parade will comprise of a range of two, three and four-bedroom formats, many with multipurpose rooms.
Residents will have access to resort style amenities including a private pool area with sunken lounge and wet edge, a relaxation zone with sauna, shower and spa, yoga lawn, bar and barbecue as well as a lounge and cinema.
Residents will also be able to access the hotel’s five-star facilities including a port cochere, valet, room and laundry services as well as the hotel pool, lounges and restaurant.
“Given the site is just 1km from the Gold Coast Airport that is being expanded for extra capacity to attract new carriers and new international and domestic flight connections, we recognised the need for a five-star hotel, as well as private apartment residences, to meet demand from global travellers and people who work remotely,” added Mould.
“With 90 metres of beach frontage, holidaymakers and residents will enjoy sweeping beach and ocean views from their hotels and apartments, enjoying easy access to the white sands of North Kirra Beach, plus it’s only a short stroll to Kirra where there are restaurants, cafes and boutique stores.”
MAYD Group are currently in negotiations with a global five-star hotel operator to deliver the beachfront resort.
