SHOWBIZ Cinemas is set to open a new state-of-the-art complex at the new Delacombe Town Centre shopping precinct in Ballarat.
Colliers International’s Mike Crittenden and Bernard Canning negotiated the lease on behalf of H Troon, with Showbiz Cinemas securing in excess of 1,100sqm of retail space to open a six-screen cinema.
Showbiz Group director Chris Jones said it was a logical progression for the company, which currently operates other regional cinemas and also special large scale special event screenings throughout Victoria and interstate.
“We are on a committed and sustainable regional growth strategy and our new Ballarat complex will service existing residents and also cater for the booming growth corridor to the west and south-west of the city,” Jones said.
Currently under construction, the 20,000 sqm Delacombe Town Centre is anchored by K-Mart and Woolworths and supported by more than 37 speciality retailers, kiosks and various pad sites with over 850 free and convenient car parks.
“Delacombe Town Centre will be a state-of-the-art sub regional shopping centre, set to dominate the fast-growing western corridor of Ballarat,” Crittenden said. “The addition of Showbiz Cinemas to the centre will greatly enhance the overall offering, which we expect to be very well received by this expanding catchment.”
H Troon’s director of development and operation Tom McInerney said the group were pleased to sign Showbiz Cinemas to Delacombe Town Centre which is due to open in September 2017.
