PROPERTYLINK has appointed Ian Hutchinson, the former chairman and senior partner of Freehills law firm as a non-executive director.
Hutchinson has over 50 years of diverse legal, financial, property, mining, insurance, governance and compliance expertise and is heavily involved in the development of Chinese and Australian business relationships.
He has held previous roles as chairman of Starwood Pacific Hotels Ltd, Global Mining Investments Ltd, Australian Transport Network Ltd, and as director of Australand Holdings Ltd and Zurich Financial Services Ltd,
“Ian brings a wealth of knowledge with him to Propertylink, in particular his ability to further strengthen our corporate governance regime and help us create partnerships with Asian capital sources,” Propertylink managing director Stephen Day said.
The appointment follows the merger in 2011 of Propertylink and Echo Capital Pty Ltd, with the merged entity currently having more than $820 million of assets and projects under management.
Since the merger, the company has achieved a number of significant milestones, including originating the $67 million acquisition of 477 Collins St Melbourne for Aviva Investors Asia Pacific Property Fund, with Propertylink now contracted to provide ongoing management of the building.
