Two of the last remaining development sites on the southern Gold Coast have been placed on the market.
Expressions of interest is currently being sought for the Tugun sites, by Brad Johnston and Darrell Irwin of Colliers International on the Gold Coast.
The larger of the two sites, measuring 6.7 hectares, has development approval for 213 homes.
The Inland Drive site formed part of ‘Pacific Beach’, a 30-hectare parcel developed by the vendor in stages to include low and medium density homes from 1997 to 2000. The available site was to be Pacific Beach’s final stage.
The smaller 1.48 hectare ‘Pacific Vista’ site, at Admiral Drive, has been approved for 38 medium density dwellings.
Johnston said the vendor has had a number of unsolicited offers to sell the sites, which has prompted a formal process of placing the properties on the market.
“As two of the few remaining development sites in Tugun, so close to the beach and extensive amenities such as schools, shops and Coolangatta Airport, we anticipate strong interest from the market.
“The sites suit a multiple of uses including a mix of residential product and retirement and aged care facilities, due to the close proximity to John Flynn Hospital. Retail, childcare and office components are also possible,” he added.
“This is the ideal opportunity for a developer to secure either or both prime sites and take advantage of the region’s existing infrastructure and amenities,” Irwin said.
Expressions of interest close on November 02, 2006.
