FLEXIBLE workspace provider Regus is opening a new location in Bankstown next week within the new $55 million Flinders Centre, as co-working space becomes more viable across the suburbs.
Regus, part of IWG Australia, will occupy the top floor of the eight-storey, offering co-working space across 1,350 sqm and 200 workstations.
The Flinders Centre is within walking distance of all transport interchanges and has various amenities including the retail centre. Members are able to utilise the co-joined Bankstown Sports Club, which includes childcare and a kid’s play centre.
“Outer-city flexible workspaces are becoming vital for businesses to attract and retain top talent nowadays,” Damien Sheehan, country head of IWG Australia said.
“It’s hugely exciting to consider the potential benefits that this development brings to the Bankstown community and surrounding suburbs, both its businesses and people.”
IWG research found an increasing demand for shorter commuting times, with 39% of Australians viewing commuting as the worst part of the day. According to the Regus 2018 Economic Survey, cutting out the commute by working remotely could save Australians 56.5 million hours of time travelled per annum by 2030, and that remote workers are almost twice as likely to say that they love their job compared to co-located workers in the same industries.
Flexible working is set to contribute $122 billion to the Australian economy by 20302 – saving businesses money, reducing operating costs and boosting productivity, according to the survey.
Regus Bankstown will open on 16 October, and is the fifth Regus location in Western Sydney, alongside centres in Liverpool, Parramatta and Blacktown. IWG also operates major co-working space player Spaces.
