IWASAKI Group, the Japanese company that operates the Rydges Capricon Resort Yeppoon is set to spend $100 million to redevelop and expand the resort.
The redevelopment was announced after Queensland Premier Anna Bligh met with Iwasaki Group’s president Yoshitaro Iwasaki on her trade mission to go over his plans for an expansion and re-development of the resort.
Bligh said Iwasaki Group plans to expansion will see the development of new apartment and villa-style accommodation.
“The new development will cater to both domestic and international visitors, and there are also plans for a residential development in the Rockhampton district.
“The company has a 15-year master plan in place for the resort’s future development, with expansion of their adjoining cattle grazing business from approximately 3000 to 5000 head also proposed. This expansion would improve capacity for supply of Iwasaki’s line of beef which is sold on the Japanese market,” Bligh said.
