LENDLEASE and the Melton City Council’s masterplanned community Atherstone in Melbourne’s west has chalked up more sales.
In the largest land release to date, Atherstone hosted a crowd of approximately 250 people last weekend with 71 parcels of land purchased from 90 released.
This follows the previous sales record set in June, where 77 lots were snapped up on the day via public ballot.
Atherstone has been achieving record sales since the start of 2017, ranking the top selling new community by volume in Victoria between January – March, and the top selling in Australia between April – June.
The project, which is a joint venture between Lendlease and Melton City Council, is on track to achieve more than 850 sales this year, with 200 sales achieved in the past two months.
Located 38km west of the Melbourne CBD, Atherstone will be home to approximately 15,000 residents upon completion.
“Atherstone is proving to be incredibly attractive to families, evidence of the demand for affordable, high quality living options with excellent access to parks and nature, bike and walking trails and local infrastructure,” Lendlease Communities managing director Matthew Wallace said.
“Together with Melton City Council, we are investing in the infrastructure needed for the growing population in the Melton area, including the Western Business Accelerator and Centre for Excellence (BACE) to promote and support small local business; Bridge Road Children’s and Community Centre; and the first stage of the $11.3 million Regional Sports Precinct,” he added.
