AUSTRALIA’S first and only Masters champion, golfer Adam Scott is offloading a 7,502 sqm development site in central Queensland’s Rockhampton, up for grabs for the first time since 2007 and which could be used as the base for a 25-storey tower.
The 42-48 Victoria Parade site is situated located between the expanding apartment and hotel developments precinct on the banks of the Fitzroy River – one of the few remaining vacant parcels in Rockhampton CBD with river frontage, and the largest site of its type, according to Knight Frank’s Pat O’Driscoll, who is managing the campaign.
“The two-street frontage to Victoria Parade and Bolsover Street is an enormous advantage,” he said.
“As the city continues to flourish these sites will continue to rise in demand.
“The Rockhampton region is experiencing significant expansion and investment, with a growing number of key priority projects in the pipeline.”
Paul Watson of architectural firm Buchan in Brisbane has been instructed by Adam Scott’s company to provide schematics for the highest and best use for the site. The Buchan scheme provides for a 25-storey mixed-use development of hotel and apartments with a possible conference and retail mix on the lower levels.
“This is an important gateway site with an unrivalled opportunity to create a destination precinct in Rockhampton that enhances the ongoing evolution of the riverfront experience and support the growing demands in the city for quality short-term and owner occupier accommodation,” Watson said.
The offers to purchase campaign closes at 12pm on 17th May.
Scott, who was born in Adelaide and spent much of his youth in Queensland, became the first and to date only Australian to win the Masters Tournament in 2013. He was won 31 professional tournaments so far in his career.
