A SYDNEY-based family has settled on their purchase of a 2,300 sqm site on Robina on the Gold Coast, on which they will develop a 700 sqm state-of-the-art Anytime Fitness gym, as the Stadium Village precinct of the community begins to take shape.
The new owners, Angus Terry and his family, acquired the property on the corner of Promethean Way and Centreline Place from Robina’s founder and master developer Robina Group in the same campaign that saw Pellicano acquire an adjoining 2,769 sqm parcel of land.
The two sites of land sold for a combined value of around $6 million, with Melbourne-based Pellicano believed to have paid more than $2 million for the site, and is in discussions with Quest Apartments Hotels about building a project with residential apartments and a 60-room hotel.
Colliers International’s Darrell Irwin and Geoff Lamb negotiated the sale.
Terry will relocate from to the Gold Coast. The family has operated a string of car dealerships from Dubbo to Wollongong.
Having specialised in finance in the car industry, Terry will follow his passion for fitness in operating the Anytime Fitness Gym.
“We had been looking for a site for more than six months and initially had our eyes on another parcel that we missed out on. We did not want to settle for any location, we wanted one that really stood out, and Centreline Place was perfect,” he said.
Anytime Fitness was rapidly has more than 400 facilities in Australia, and 3,000 facilities worldwide.
“The handy location, adjacent to Bond University’s Institute of Health and Sport, Cbus Super Stadium, Robina Train Station and Vue Terrace Homes, sets it apart – particularly for a facility of this kind, which will draw customers from the local residential and business community,” Lamb said.
