CONSTRUCTION at the $1 billion TradeCoast Central development in Eagle Farm has started.
The project is being developed on the prime 150 hectare former old Brisbane airport site, just 8 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.
A joint venture with the Brisbane City Council – which bought the land from the Federal Government six years ago – TradeCoast Central will offer freehold allotment sizes ranging from one to 20 hectares.
The estate will incorporate a high speed fibre optic network and include a commercial and retail centre.
The campus-style office park overlooks the Brisbane Airport’s proposed golf course.
TradeCoast Central’s managing director Bob Tucker said the start of construction heralded an exciting new era for industrial and commercial office parks in Brisbane.
“Our development is the only industrial park in Australia that has environmentally sustainable design code incorporated into its Development Approval,” he said.
Stage one of the development will be subdivided into eight lots for warehouse and manufacturing usage and commercial offices.
