THE Usher Pastoral Company has added to its south-west Queensland landholdings with the acquisition of the Mount Margaret and Kihee stations for circa-$20 million.
Dick Allpass from Elders sold the 634,745-hectare property on behalf of the Kilburnie Cattle Company.
The Mount Margaret station includes Berellem and covers 470,504 hectares with 43 main paddocks and 15 holding paddocks, and an estimated capacity to run 7,000 cows or 60,000 sheep, including 20,000 ewes and 2,000 cows. It consists of mostly Mitchell grass country and an 80-kilomtre double frontage to the Wilson River.
Kihee station has four main paddocks and can potentially hold 3,000 weaners for seasonal fattening.
There are a combined 33 sub-bores and nine dams on the properties, and improvements include a five-bedroom timber homestead with tennis court, swimming pool and quest quartes.
Usher Pastoral also owns Orient and Norley in the region, and property in the Taroom and Wandoan district.
