MELBOURNE developer Andrew Rettig's R. Corporation has teamed up with Jodhi Meares, the former Mrs. James Packer, to launch a new luxury apartment in South Yarra.
The project, Clara, has engaged Meares as its lifestyle collaborator as an interior designer.
Rettig said the apartment release is ahead of schedule following the success of the townhouse offering with a number of townhouses sold despite recent economic conditions.
“The apartments are already in demand and recognised as a solid investment choice with some of the 156 already sold. The interest has been so strong that we have decided to accept pre-sales from buyers who visited the townhouse display,” he added.
The apartments range from $297,500 for a studio, $300,000 for one bedroom and $595,000 for two bedrooms. The development is designed by architects Elenberg Fraser.
“The feeling we want people to have when they enter the apartments is that of entering a glass pavilion in the middle of the botanical gardens,” Rettig said. Each apartment takes full advantage of its north facing aspect with floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a generous terrace, providing a whole extra living space.
Construction is expected to commence in mid-2009.
