DEXUS has secured luxury Italian fashion house Valentino, famous for the red dress, as the retail anchor for the MLC Centre as part of the tower’s $170 million overhaul.
Valentino will open a new flagship spanning two levels across 765 sqm on the corner of Castlereagh St and King St.
Dexus commenced construction in June on a new 6,000 sqm luxury retail and dining precinct across four levels, shortly after acquiring the remaining share of the 67 level tower for $800 million from GPT.
“Sydney has continued to position itself as Australia’s ultimate luxury shopping destination. This exciting addition to the CBD complements Dexus’s other strategically located sites in Sydney’s luxury precinct including 5 Martin Pl and Tiffany & Co.’s Sydney flagship store at 175 Pitt St,” Dexus head of retail leasing, Eddie Giraldo said.
Valentino is scheduled to open at the MLC Centre in the first half of 2021.
The redevelopment of the MLC Centre also includes plans to revive the Theatre Royal with Dexus entering into a long-term lease with the NSW Government, paving the way for a private theatre operator to run the theatre.
