MUCHEA Industrial Park is expected to create thousands of jobs, as draft plans for the development in Perth’s north are released.
“Developing Muchea Industrial Park on the outskirts of Perth’s fast-growing north-east corridor will drive economic growth and job creation in the region, generating significant employment both during construction and as businesses are established,” said Planning Minister Rita Saffioti.
The industrial estate is about 50 kilometres north-east of the Perth CBD and comprises over 1,100 hectares, located at the junction of key freight networks such as NorthLink WA, Great Northern Highway and Brand Highway.
The industrial park will also be supported by triple road train access, creating essential access to agricultural and mining regions within the state.
“This structure plan provides a contemporary framework for future industrial development and capitalises on the recent infrastructure investment to improve the road network for freight, taking advantage of the prime location,” said Saffioti.
According to the WA government the release of the draft Muchea Industrial Park Structure Plan should provide a clear picture of the development, “bringing more certainty for industry, developers, investors and the community.”
“Long-term job creating projects such as this are crucial as we continue to forge a path for WA’s economic recovery,” concluded Saffioti.
