A TABLE grape operation situated in the Sunraysia district just out of Mildura is expected to generate interest past $10 million after hitting the market on Tuesday.
The 54 hectare property is at 180 Stewart Road, Red Cliffs – 17km south-west of Mildura. It consists of three lots of land with their own irrigation infrastructure, comprised of three independent Grundfos and Southern Cross systems.
Phil Schell, Angus Bills and David Goodfellow of CBRE were the representatives chosen to manage the sale campaign. Expressions of interest are invited for the property up until November 16.
“This Red Cliffs property is a well-maintained table grape operation, with a proven track record and quality improvements that would suit a commercial operation,” Schell said.
“Australian grapes are in demand well beyond these shores. Almost all of the export table grapes in the country are grown in the Sunraysia region, which is set to help drive interest in this property.”
85% (46 hectares) of the Sunraysia farm is home to the planting of crimson seedless table grapes. 6 hectares of the farm is dedicated to the planting of sweet sapphire table grapes. The grape trees across the property range from 5-19 years of age.
Interest from investors in this operation is expected to be high due to the success of table-grape-growing in the Sunraysia region. The region is the country’s biggest table-grape-growing area – shipping produce around Australia and also to major export markets such as China.
The region’s success in table-grape-growing is represented within the figures that show that 115,000 boxes have been sold or exported through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide markets.
Benefits of the property aren’t just limited to the growth of their table-grape operation. The property also contains four homes including a six-bedroom family residence. In addition, there is also a 1295 square metre packing shed which includes a loading dock, three cool rooms, machinery shedding, office space and staff amenities.
