SAM and Jenny Bailey are putting their adjoining NSW Croppa Creek properties, Pine Hills and Mossgiel, on the market.
Pine Hills and Mossgiel span a combined 1,214-hectares and are situated 16 kms east of Croppa Creek and 47 kilometres north-west of Warialda. With a total of 162-hectares of Pine Hills and 447-hectares of Mossgiel currently farmed.
The two properties are being marketed and sold via auction by Moree Real Estate and JA McGregor Livestock and Property.
Pine Hills spans boasts 4.5 kilometres of double frontage and 900 metres of single frontage to Croppa Creek, with river gums and fertile flats, where the owners have produced Angus beef cattle.
The while the balance has been de-stocked since 2019 and boasts an abundance of natural pastures ready for cattle.
The properties include gently undulating to level land, with a l mix of soil types from first class “Golden Triangle” black basalt and chocolate creek flats on the western side and a mix of red chocolate soils to the east.
Sam Bailey is a quadriplegic farmer, with he and his former ABC Rural broadcaster wife, Jenny, the subject of an ABC TV “Australian Story” program back in 2000.
Bailey’s family have been associated with the area for nearly 60 years, with Sam’s father Graham purchased the adjoining “Bardin” in 1964, before the family purchased Pine Hills in 1991.
Pine Hills includes a 1916-built homestead, which is built from cypress pine timber from the property and underwent a major renovation in 2020 to include a new kitchen, bathroom, office and large north-facing gauzed area.
The properties include five excellent bores supplying concrete troughs to almost all the grazing paddocks, numerous dams and many of the paddocks having access to two water sources.
Other improvements at Pine Hills include a new car shed/workshop, machinery sheds, a 4-stand shearing shed, sheep yards, piggery and stable/saddle room.
While Mossgiel has a three-bedroom house, renovated in the early 2000s, and 4-bay car shed.
Pine Hills and Mossgiel are set to go under the hammer on 31 August, if not sold prior.
