THE 45.31-hectare Bluestone Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills is going to auction, with expectations of drawing interest from investors, industry participants and lifestyle buyers.
Colliers International’s Nick Dean, Nick Goode and Tim Altschwager are marketing the site.
Established 20 years ago, the property has been a fruit supplier to wine producers including Treasury Wine Estates, Hentley Farm Wines and Lobethal Road.
Dean said the vineyard features plantings of sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and temperanillo.
“The auction presents investors and industry participants with an opportunity to gain a foothold in this increasingly tightly held area on established terroir,” he added.
Dean said South Australia was the principal grape-growing and wine-producing state in Australia, an industry that has become a major contributor to its economic activity.
“The Adelaide Hills region is an extremely important wine-producing region, responsible for producing some of the country’s best cool-climate wines,” he continued.
Improvements on the site include a ranch-style residence, implement shed, chemical and pump sheds, internal roadways and underground water licence.
The on-site auction of Lot 39, Pfeiffer Road will be held on March 30th at 10.30am.
