CONSTRUCTION is now underway on Alexa Development’s residential project, Alex Collective, as the third building in the development sells out 70% of its available stock.
Ceerose has been contracted to deliver Alex Collective, located at 163-173 McEvoy Street and 86-116 Lawrence Street in Sydney’s Alexandria, comprises four Andrew Burns-designed brickwork buildings that will include 163 apartments.
“It is a privilege to be appointed as the construction contractor for Alex Collective. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with Alexa Development and Andrew Burns to deliver a successful project. Building quality relationships with key partners is an important part of our work,” said Edward Doueihi, managing director at Ceerose.
Located in Sydney’s inner west where limited quality stock is available, property prices in Alexandria have grown by nearly 7.05%, according to CoreLogic.
Driven by high demand in the area, Alex Collective’s most recent building to be launched, Cooper, has only 30% of residences still available since its September launch of apartment and penthouses offerings.
“The release of Cooper is proof that demand continues for quality product in key Sydney locations. Alexandria has always been a highly sought-after location with its unique terraces, warehouse style apartments and heritage homes in a historic industrial-aged setting,” said Daniel McMahon, director of residential at Colliers, who are marketing the project.
The industrial inspired buildings, spanning four, seven and eight storeys, will include saw-tooth roofs, light wells and sky bridges and will be built around a Landscape Architects Site Image Group-designed garden with magnesium pool.
“Andrew Burns’ intuitive design for Alex Collective with pattern brickwork and metallic cladding will further enhance the striking facade. Hundreds of jobs will be created during construction which will help the economy as we move out of lockdown,” said Doueihi.
Alex Collective sits within close proximity of both Alexandria and Sydney Parks, Sydney University and is well serviced by nearby public transport links, with Erskineville Oval bus stop and The Grounds of Alexandria, Erskineville and St Peters train stations.
