NATIONAL clearance rates were at 58.3% this week, as the number of reported auctions dipped marginally.
According to the latest insights from Domain, nationally there were 1,674 auctions listed for the weekend, up from the previous weeks 1,469, with 1,121 auctions taking place compared to 1,286 the week before.
At 58.3%, the national clearance rate was up from the previous weeks revised 55.5%, with 653 properties selling at auction compared to 714 in the week prior, with 181 properties withdrawn, up from 178.
The clearance rate was actually up on the same week last year, where the clearance rate was at 57.7%, with Melbourne having a low 38.8% clearance rate that week in 2021.
The total value sold for the week was $516.2 million, with houses bringing in an auction median of $1,157,500 and units at $748,750.
The total value was down on last week’s $554.3 million, with the auction median for houses down marginally from $1,188,000 and with units down from $825,000.
Compared to the same week last year, the total value sold was down from $1075.3 million, the house auction median at $1,345,000 and the unit auction median at $872,500.
In Sydney the clearance rate was down from 56.5% to 56.4%, with 433 reported auctions, 114 withdrawals and 244 properties selling.
This was for a total value sold of $218.9 million, or an auction median of $1,532,500 for houses and $1,100,000 for units.
In Melbourne the clearance rate was up from 55.4% to 60.7%, with 532 reported auctions, 56 withdrawals and 323 properties selling.
This was for a total value sold of $229.6 million, or an auction median of $980,000 for houses and $652,500 for units.
While in Adelaide, the clearance rate was still above the national average at 68%, with 75 auctions reported, five withdrawals and 51 properties sold, for $27,429,000 in total sales and a median of $658,000.
In Brisbane the clearance rate was down significantly at 32%, with 73 auctions reported, five withdrawals and 23 sold, though total sales value was up at $21,928,500, with a median of $1,017,500.
While in Canberra the clearance rate was at 55%, with 64 auctions reported, three withdrawals and 35 properties sold for a total value of $29,250,600 and a median of $927,500.
