Global real estate investment manager Hines has hired Jonathan Pearce to head up leasing, customer engagement and “centricity” efforts across Canada and the broader Americas, Green Street News can reveal.
Based in Toronto, Pearce will work with Hines teams in Canada and the United States to maximize leasing performance, refine strategies and provide in-depth market intelligence to investment professionals and market officers. Pearce started on Oct. 1.
Prior to joining Hines, he held a series of senior roles at institutional global real estate investor Ivanhoé Cambridge, then Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec when the latter integrated its real estate subsidiaries, Ivanhoé Cambridge and Otéra Capital.
Pearce most recently was a managing director of U.S. office and life sciences real estate investments at CDPQ. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of leasing and development, where he counseled regional teams and worked with operating partners on leasing and development activities to ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the institutional investor.
His responsibilities in that position included leasing for all properties and developments in Canada and the continental United States, comprising 120m sq ft across the office, industrial, life sciences and retail sectors in major markets from Toronto to Los Angeles to Mexico City.
