JLL is moving again, relocating its Sydney headquarters to the new Sydney Place development, as companies seek out flexible and sustainable workplaces in the wake of lockdowns.
The development, which is due to be completed in 2022, is located at 180 George Street, with JLL Australia set to occupy around 3,532sqm of space across levels 25-27 of the new flagship commercial tower, Salesforce Tower.
Sydney Place is being developed and constructed by Lendlease in a joint venture between China’s Ping An Real Estate and Japan’s Mitsubishi Estate Asia in Circular Quay.
The development is a major part of the regeneration of Circular Quay, injecting laneways, retail, hospitality and public space into the precinct.
The 263 metre Salesforce Tower is set to become Sydney’s tallest office building and has been awarded a Platinum WELL rating, as well as targeting both a 6 Star Green Star and 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating.
“Businesses are increasingly seeking high quality, future-ready workplaces to align with their culture and brand, and to attract and retain talent. The calibre of tenants committing to Sydney’s leading new development reflects this trend,” said Steve McGillivray, project director of Sydney Place at Lendlease.
JLL itself will target a 6 Star Green Star rating for its new tenancy, while its office fit-out will be designed by in-house teams Workplace Strategy and Interior Workspace Design, managed by JLL’s Project Management business.
“JLL is embarking on the next evolution of its office space in Sydney, focused on the future of work and ensuring we are at the forefront of workplace and office buildings for our people and our clients,” Daniel Kernaghan, managing director of JLL, NSW.
JLL will also provide property management services to the tower, which has Salesforce as its titular and anchor tenant, occupying levels 34-52, as well as Greenhouse who will take up levels one through three.
“The investment we are making in our new Sydney corporate headquarters at Sydney Place is about being ahead of the pack in how we run our business and support our staff, which translates into better outcomes for our clients,” concluded Kernaghan.
This news follows JLL’s recent recommitment to Western Sydney, relocating to a recently completed prime grade space in Parramatta and almost doubling its footprint in the area.
