THE New South Wales government has netted $15.23 million from auctions of 6,803 hectares of its Cobbora property in the Upper Hunter region.
The 43,553-hectare property was slated for use as an open-cut coalmine before the plans were ditched three years ago.
The first round of auctions of the landholding included the 3,239-hectare Avondale mixed farm site, and 14 lifestyle properties.
