NIGEL O’Neil as stepped down as chief executive at Barry Plant after four years with the business, the Victorian real estate group has announced.
O’Neil has left his role to pursue fresh opportunities with director Mike McCarthy appointed acting CEO for the interim while the search committee looks for a permanent replacement. He was appointed CEO in early 2021
Some of his key contributions to Barry Plant was implementing the recently launched real estate training program, RTO, and his impact on customer experience in order to drive future growth for the group.
The work that O’Neil put into the company was a contribution that didn’t go unnoticed by his colleagues.
“Nigel has been a tremendous leader with the Barry Plant network over the last four years and we wish him well for the future. He leaves the business in a very strong position with a clear strategy in place and we thank him for his invaluable contribution to the group which is performing well across both city and regional areas,” said McCarthy.
O’Neil is comfortable with his decision as he plans the next step forward in a successful career.
“It has been a special privilege to lead this organisation, but after much consideration and off the back of such incredible achievements of late, I feel this is the right time for me to hand the baton over to the next generation of leaders of Barry Plant to guide the group through its next phase. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved over the last four years and look forward to seeing the business continue to thrive” said O’Neil.
Barry Plant is a real estate services business that continues to grow through their services of offering agency sales, property management and career training services. They hold 70 offices across Victoria and South Australia. McCarthy is confident about the future ahead.
“Barry Plant is in the position it is today, as a result of the passion, commitment and expertise of our people. I am certain we have the right team in place with a definitive strategy, a compelling purpose and strong values to continue to deliver long-term outcomes for all our stakeholders.” McCarthy furthered.
