FRASERS Property Australia’s will deliver a new Woolworths-anchored town centre in Tarneit in Melbourne’s west.
The Grove shopping centre will span two sections divided by Bethany Road linked by a pedestrian crossing and reserve and will include more than 20 stores, cafes and services and a learn-to-swim school.
Empire Properties will develop, construct and manage the new shopping centre on the adjacent site it purchased from Frasers Property in 2020.
The retail component will comprise a full-size 4,000sqm Woolworths supermarket with a further 4,000sqm of retail outlets including a bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, Chemist Warehouse outlet and an Anytime Fitness gym.
With the precinct across Bethany Road to include a learn-to-swim school with a 25-metre pool, Hungry Jacks fast food outlet, service station and a car wash.
There will be 260 car spaces for the retail precinct and a further 60 to service the swim school and adjacent tenants.
Bus stops will link through to the Tarneit and Werribee railway stations, providing convenient connections.
“We know the residents of The Grove have been eagerly awaiting their new shopping zone, and we’re excited to get started on delivering what will be the heart of this great community,” said Tony Masalkovski, founder at Empire Properties.
The Grove is a 167-hectare community with more than 1600 residents, which will eventually be home to 2600 households.
“The Grove residents already enjoy easy access to schools, parks, playgrounds and wetlands within their community, and now the final piece of the convenience puzzle will slot into place with this new retail precinct,” said Sarah Bloom, general manager of development Victoria at Frasers Property Australia.
Construction is set to begin in mid-2024 and is expected to take two years to complete.
